Hometown Hearing: Our Story
Hometown Hearing is a privately owned and operated hearing practice. Jacob Levsen opened Hometown Hearing in 2015 after working in the hearing aid field for 20 years. Jacob wanted to be able to help the people of Des Moines experience better hearing. Jacob enjoys seeing the faces of his patients light up when they first hear the sound of their loved one’s voices when they are fit for hearing aids in the office.
Our goal at Hometown Hearing is to provide all of our patients with exceptional hearing care, so they can hear – and feel – their best again. Everyone deserves to be able to hear the voices of their children, the laughter of their grandchildren, and the sound of the conversation with friends. Jacob Levsen, HIS
After speaking with a friend who was a hearing specialist, Jacob discovered that he enjoyed the type of work being a hearing instrument specialist offered. Now he is passionate about helping people experience better hearing through hearing aids. He keeps up to date with the latest hearing aid technology and is excited to constantly see the new technology released and how it can help his patients reconnect with their life. From helping patients manage their hearing loss to discovering the latest advancements in hearing aid technology, Jacob loves the versatility of being a hearing specialist.
How We Give Back To Our Community
At Hometown Hearing, we do our best to give back to our local community. We are an active member of the Des Moines Lions Club and provide free hearing aid fittings for those in need. We are also a part of the NFL Player’s Association’s Professional Athletes Foundation. Through this organization we are able to bring hearing awareness to former professional athletes and their fans across the nation.
